Anaheim is the theme-park hub of Southern California. The Disneyland Resort sits at its center, with Knott's Berry Farm a short hop away in Buena Park. Nearly everything in the surrounding blocks exists because of them: hotels, parking structures, chain restaurants, shuttle stops, souvenir shops that sell the same four items.
What people underestimate is the pace. A park day is a long walking day, often eight to twelve hours on your feet, in sun, in a crowd. One of those is fine. Three in a row with children is a different proposition, and the thing that breaks first is rarely enthusiasm. It is logistics: laundry, food that is not park food, and somewhere to put a tired child that is not a stroller.
That is the case for a home rather than a room. A kitchen means breakfast happens before you leave and dinner does not require a restaurant wait at nine at night. Laundry means you pack for four days instead of eight. Separate rooms mean one adult can put a kid down while everyone else is still awake. By day three that matters more than you expect.
The strongest version of a multi-day park trip has a day in the middle with nothing scheduled. Sleep late, swim, run laundry, drive out to the coast for a few hours, come back. Everyone is better on day four for it, and it costs nothing you were going to enjoy anyway.
A few practical points. Park hours shift by season and by day of the week, so check before you plan an early start. Ticket structures and reservation requirements change; confirm what you actually need well before you arrive rather than in the parking structure. Resort parking is its own queue, and if the house is close enough, a rideshare each way is often faster than driving, parking and walking in.
Food is where trips leak money and patience. Anaheim has genuinely good eating outside the gates, including the Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian kitchens along Brookhurst Street a few minutes away. Fifteen minutes off property buys you a better meal for less than a counter-service tray. Your local manager can point you at the closest reliable grocery run for the first morning, which is the errand nobody plans for and everybody needs.
